Question
I got married ten years ago. We have no children. Recently a doctor in
Saudi Arabia told me that there is blood cot in my wife fallopian tube,
which block fertilization. Doctor asked me to remove this blood cot by
laproscopy and my wife-undergone laproscopy and the blood cot was
removed. After laproscopy done wife is still not pregnant. Again blood
cot appreared in tube. Doctor asked me to do laproscopy again. So i met
another gyenacologist who has given gynera tablets and asked me to take
for three months. My question is gynera tablets is using for
contraception. i went to see this doctor for infertility. Still I dont
know why doctor has given gynera medicine. My wife had pain in the lower
abdomen. is this medicine is using for any other reason other than
contraception.
|
|
|
Answer:
Please send me the complete Laparoscopy report regarding the tubes.
Gynera, though a contraceptive pill, is given for 1-2 months to
regularise the periods or to reduce endometriosis. Also, what is your
semen result? has a PCT been done? Let me know the reports, so I can
advice you further. |

Question
Dear Doctor, I am 26 years old woman married 8
months past. In my age of 18 I suffered from irregular periods followed
by severe stomach pain and when we tested doctor told that there is a
chocolate cyst in the right ovary and it is advicable to remove the
right ovary then at the age of 19 the right ovary was removed by an
operation. After that my periods are regular in the interval of 30 days.
My husband is working abroad and we had regular sex for three months.
But i didnt conceive. Can i conceive with the working of only one ovary?
My husband is going to come shortly for a very short period? What things
i should do and what steps i should follow to get conceive? I also
afraid that if my menstrual cycle comes when my husband is coming here.
Please advice me doctor and guide me to have a child
|
|
|
Answer: Yes, you can conceive with one ovary. however, have an ultrasound done
to determine that you do not have a cyst again and also that you are
ovulating. Which city are you in? See your gynec. , so that your period
can be regularised in such a way that you are ovulating when he comes.
You can also take clomid to ensure that you are ovulating during the
cycle he is there. Also, have your tubes checked. |

Question
Dear Doctor, We gotmarried in 2004.After that in
2005,i had a spondaneous abortion. After that i ve consulted some
doctors and taken infertility traetments since my periods were
irregular. Now we have consulted a new hospital where they have taken
all blood test, semen test and scans. All are normal .In the scan they
found a very small cyst so adviced to take pills for two months and next
time found the cyst disappeared. Then they have done diagonostic
hestereoscopy in which one polyp found same removed.Tubes were also
normal. Now they adviced to go for IUI for two cycles. This month i ve
undergone hesteroscopy and after that i had bleeding for two three
days. After that we had intercourse two times around 13 th and 14 th
days.So my question s whether ovulation happened for this cycle or not?
|
|
|
Answer: One can determine ovulation by doing a scan on day 12 - 16 of the period
to see the size of the follicle. The day of ovulation is different in
different women and also different during different cycles. Ultrasound
would be able to guide you regarding your fertile period. All the best ! |

Question
Dr, I am the mother of a 3 year old child and now
I wants to be pregnant again. I had taken contraceptive pills (Feminine)
for 7 months and thereafter we had used quantums to protect pregnancy. I
am 28 years old and overweight considering my height. I am trying to
reduce the weight now. My problem is for the last 3 months, no period
was noticed and I checked the pregnancy. Got negative result, and Dr
told me to use Diamet Tablet. I want to know the action of that tablet.
What should I do to adjust my hormone level to be pregnant again? |
|
|
Answer: You probably have PCO, where there are irregular periods, a tendency to
be overweight and anovulation. It is associated with insulin resistance,
which prevents ovulation. Dimet helps correct this and aids in
ovulation. Have an ultrasound done around day 12 of the period to
determine the size of the follicle. If you are not ovulating, you may
require clomid tablets. Losing weight will help you. All the best ! |

Question
Dear Dr., is it possible to ovulate but get no
period? I am about 10 days late and have no period, and both hpts say
negative. I ovulated 26 days ago. My luteal phase has been exactly 16
days for the past 3 months. About two weeks ago I felt like I was
getting my period. I had severe cramps, tender breasts, and headaches.
The cramps were really bad. I still get twinges of cramping, sometimes
feel dizzy. Sometimes I even feel pregnant. Some days it feels like my
period is coming. I'm so upset because I had a missed miscarriage in
Jan. and now I feel like something is wrong. I am going to make an apt.
with my dr. but I was just wondering what your advice was. Thank you so
much! |
|
|
Answer: How do you know you ovulated ? Which method did you use to detect
ovulation? If you still have not got a period , do a blood test- beta
hcg. If this is below 5 , you are not pregnant. In that case, take
duphaston tablets- one tablet twice a day to get a period. After the
period, do a scan on day 12 of the period to determine when you are
ovulating and let me know. Which city are you in ? |

Question
Hi Doc, My last menstrual starts on 25thMay and my
common cycle is 28days . On the 23rd day , I had unprotected sex with my
hubby. Then I took prostinor-2 the following day. Then,we had another
unprotected sex on the 30th day from my first menstrual. Then again , I
took prostinor-2 the following day. For second intercouse, I took the
first tablet within 24hrs,but the 2nd one i have delayed . And now ,my
period is one week late. May i know if my estimation correct and helps
to prevent pregnancy ? If i have taken prostinor2 during first
unprotected intercouse, will it delays the ovulation and causing im
fertilized during my second intercourse ? I have taken 2does of
prostinor2 within the same cycle. How will this delay my next period and
when is it?Im in doubt . Kindly advice .
Thanks
|
|
|
Answer: Do a urine test if you have not yet got a period. If negative, take
duphaston tablets- one tablet twice a day for 5 days to get a period.
Prostinor is not 100% effective. I suggest, you take a pill once you get
your next period, to avoid getting pregnant. The period might have been
delayed due to the prostinor. |

Question
Hello doctor, I'm having irregular periods because
of pcos and increased prolactin level(75). I'm taking cabgolin(0.5mg)&
metformin once in a week. My tubes are normal.I'm trying to conceive for
more than 2.5 years still not yet. My husband's semen count is 20ml. Is
it possible to conceive in the natural way or shall we go for iui.
Please help me and suggest a good solution dr at the earliest. I'm
ovulating on the 14th day and size is 12mm after taking siphene 100mg
from the 1st day of my periods. |
|
|
Answer: You can take carbegolin - half a tablet twice a week for 3 weeks. Repeat
the prolactin. I presume you are taking metformin twice or thrice a day
everyday and not once a week, as you have mentioned. Let me know your
husband's semen report in detail, so I can advice you regarding IUI.
Also, have you done a PCT ( post- coital test ) ?12 mm is not sufficient
for ovulation. Your follicle should reach 18-mm - 20 mm. Had it reached
that size later? |

Answer: Irregular periods, hair growth and obesity are common in PCOS and can
appear at any time. You need to know whether you are ovulating or not.
Have an ultrasound done on day 12 of the cycle and let me know the
result, so I can advice you further. Also, what is your husband's semen

Question
IT'S NORMAL FOR ME TO HAVE PAIN ON MY BREAST FROM
THE 15TH OF MY CICLE OR B\4 MY CICLE AND WHAT IS THE IMPORTANT OF THE
PAIN |
|
|
Answer: Once you ovulate, there is water retention in the breast. So, depending
on your ovulation, you may get pain on day 15. However, this pain should
disappear once you get a period. If not, have a breast examination done
to determine that there is no mass in the breast. |

germany but 2 failed 2 time 15 days after HCG test negetive but my
period not yet come I have no symptoms accure . what is the reason for
my periods .

Answer: Sorry to hear about your failed IVF. Is this period delayed after the
IVF? Are you on any medication like cyclogest ? Repeat the blood test-
hcg. If still negative, take duphaston one tablet twice a day for 5 days
to get a period. If your IVF was a few months ago, have an ultrasound to
determine whether you have an ovarian cyst, which may delay your period. |
