Question
I recently found out that I was pregnant I've probably been
pregnant for about four weeks. I havn't seen a doctor yet but until then
maybe you can answer this question. I have been experienceing cramps
about twice a day they are about 45 minutes in duration sometimes very
painfull. Is this normal?
Answer
It is rare to get pregnant after the lupron, specially if it has been
taken on day 2 or 3 of the period. This prevents ovulation. However, if
the dose was taken after ovulation took place , you can be pregnant. You
must do a pregnancy test to confirm that you are not pregnant.
Question
I have extreme dryness in my vigina .which makes intercourse painfull.i
have itching after my periods .and the area goes red.i use micpgel to
give me relieve.but it is a very temporary relief.and sex is still
painfull unless we use a lot of lubrication.what do i do
Answer
Sometimes cramps maybe due to "gas " . However, have an ultrasound done
to ensure that the fetus is fine and it is not an ectopic pregnancy.
Also, an ovarian cyst or a fibroid in the uterus may also give cramps.
Question
I am a sixteen year old girl and i have not have sex, but i have
recently 'fooled around' with my boyfriend (October 13th). I am sure
none of his sperm got close to my vagina when he ejaculated, (i had my
clothes on) but for some reason today (Oct 19th) i had a bit of bloody
discharge that was whitish with some blood in it . I had a bit of
pinkish discharge a few days ago , but i thought maybe my period stayed
a bit longer. My period came on October 6th - Oct 11th and it is a bit
irregular . I have been feeling nauseous also, but this may be due to
stomach complications that I've had for a few months now. Also, my vulva
has been a bit itchy and uncomfortable lately, with a bit of pain. It
doesn't bother me much, but I am wondering if pregnancy is an issue I
have to worry about, or should i go see a gynecologist to determine what
is wrong with me ?
Answer
You must see a gynec for this who can determine the cause of the dryness
and decide what medication you might require. Fear of intercourse is one
common cause of dryness, so you must relax mentally and then your
natural lubrication might increase.
Question
Hi, I have Genital Herpes and I have High Actice Thyroid. I'm
am trying to have a child but my period keeps rolling by every month.
Throughout the month I have discharge. Should that be some something
that I should worried about? How about the trying to have a child? Could
the Herpes and the Thyroid be the cause of me not getting pregnant?
Answer
You can use momenta or travocort ointment twice a day for 5 days to
reduce the itching. Do a pregnancy test and if negative , you do not
have to worry.
Question
Hi doc, I m 31years old,married5years.i have right tube blocked.but i m
ovulating normal and periods are regullar, did iui 2months back but it
failed did 2nd iui 10 days back i took injections pregnal and menopur
,follicall size were 18 on day 12 ,2 follicles on the right ,both time
.. can u tell me the reason y my iui failed.
Answer
If your thyroid hormones are normal while on medication, you should
be able to conceive. herpes , by itself, would not prevent a pregnancy,
unless there has been infection of the tubes . For your vaginal
discharge, have a vaginal smear and a culture and sensitivity test done.
This will determine the type of infection you have and the most
appropriate treatment. Have your tubes tested once the infection is
cleared by a hysterosalpingogram.

Answer
Sorry to hear about your IUI failure. There are many reasons- the eggs
may not have been picked up by the tube. If your tubes have some
adhesions around them , the chances of this would be high. Secondly, the
sperm may not have been able to fertilise the egg . Even if the
fertilisation did occur , there maybe failure of implantation of the
fetus in the uterus. Did you form one follicle or more? The chances of
IUI increase when there are more follicles. I presume the eggs were
forming in the left ovary when you did the IUI.
Question
Hello Doctor im having irregular periods, i get my periods 2 - 3 months
but sometime i get it normal i consult a gynecologist, she gave me birth
control pills for one month, after that i got my periods then the next
month i didnot get my periods then she prescribed me duinum. isthere any
chance for me to get pregnant?
Answer
Have an ultrasound done to rule out a fibroid or an ovarian cyst . Both
these can cause excessive bleeding. Also, have a pelvic examination done
.This will determine whether you have a vaginal or cervical infection.
In the meantime, you can use dicynone tablets - one tablet three times a
day to stop the bleeding. Also, have a Pap smear done. These changes
could be due to the above causes or also if you are in the peri-menopausal
state.

Question

Answer
If clomid has caused an early ovulation , yes . One usually gets a
period 15 days after ovulation.
Question
Hi Doctor, I wrote to you before but I didnt get an answer.Hope you will
reply to my mail this time.
I am 24 years old and my husband is 30 years old.We got married 1 and
1/2 years ago.
We are trying to have a baby from the past one year but it is not
possible.
My periods were regular before marriage but from the past 8 months it
has become irregular.
I am pretty plump from childbirth and now my weight is 96Kg.
When I consulted the doctor she took an hormone test and an
ultrsound. She told me my hormone levels are normal and even there was no
problem seen in my ultrasound as such.
But she told me that there was no dominant follicle seen and I might be
experiencing annovulatory cycles.
Even my husband took an semen test and he has a 90 million sperm count
with 60% normal morphology, and his sperm motility value is 30% normal
and 30% sluggish.
The doctor told this was normal.
She told me that if I reduce my weight my cycle will come back to
normal. She has not given me any medication.
Is it true? She tells me I cannot have PCOS since my hormone levels are
normal and this is all because of my weight.
Now since the past 2 months I have not had my periods.
I feel very depressed and feel like ending my life.
Will I ever be able to conceive.What should I do?Please help me...please
Answer
Your questions go to
the Omanaccess sit . I answer them & send them to the same website. If
you go through the website, you will find your answer there. Do you have
polycystic ovaries ? Are your thyroid hormones normal ? Both these
conditions maybe associated with an increase in weight. You must lose
weight by diet and excercising. Sometimes, one does have polycystic
ovaries even with normal hormone levels. Were your FSH and LH done on
day 2 of the cycle ? This gives the reliable levels. What is your
testosterone level? I think you should be taking medication like clomid
to help you ovulate , together with losing weight. However, clomid
should be taken under strict ultrasound monitoring. Your husband's semen
is fine. Have your tubes been checked ?Which city are you in ? Find a
good infertility specialist and I am sure you will conceive soon. Let me
know the results, so I can advice you further. All the best !
Question
Is it normal to have more than one boil on the inside of the vigina?
Answer
What do you mean by "Boil" ? Any boil is not normal. If you are
referring to something firm inside the vagina, it would be the cervix.
Please specify, so I can advice you further or see a gynec who can
clarify this issue.
Question
I have symptoms of Polycystic overy formation and the doctor had
suggested me to take Diamet SR-1000 tablets for 1 month along with the
fertilization pills. Can I know why is this tablet taken. As it contains
insulin.
Answer
Diamet is given for women with PCOS . It does not contain insulin.
However, PCOS is associated with insulin resistance and diamet can
correct that. Have you been given clomid as the" fertilisation pills "?.
If yes, please ensure that careful monitoring of ovulation is done on
ultrasound to determine the most fertile period and also to ensure that
the ovaries are not getting unduly enlarged.
Question
I have a facial and even a lot of hair growth on my body since i was 16,
the problem is increasing now. help!
Answer
You may have a high testosterone level. Check it and let me know . Also,
have an ultrasound done to determine whether you have polycystic
ovaries. These are associated with a high testosterone and increased
facial hair.
Question
I'm 40yrs girl with regular monthly period.Ultrasound report shows
multiple fribods, what to do?
Answer
Do let me know the size of the fibroids. Since you are not having any
problems with the periods and if they are not increasing in size, you do
not need to do anything.

active cell .. I am from pakistan can u tell me which madicine I can use

semen quality.
Question
I had flank back pains and a pressure when I peed. I figured I had
kidney stones. I have been drinking only water for a week now. Every now
and then the back flank pain comes back. The pressure and urge to always
have to pee is still there. Tonight when I was taking a shower I noticed
my uters is sitting almost at the opening of my vigina. I have two kids,
my youngest will be 1 next month. What could this possiabley be?
Thank you.
Answer
You must have your urine checked- routine and culture and sensitivity (
if the routine test shows infection ) This would determine whether you
have any infection and also the presence of certain crystals indicative
of kidney stones. If your uterus has descended, you must see a gynec.
who can advice you regarding perineal exercises to reduce the chances of
it descending further.
Question
1) Currently Im taking Norcolut to hold my period. Its been 5 days
already. If I stop taking it today. How many days do I need to wait for
my period to come.
2) For your information, Im very seldom taking Norcolut, about once a
year if need to hold my period for a purpose of vacation. Same goes for
this time, for vacation on November (need to delay the period naturally
to avoid period pain). However, I would like to conceive after having
period on November. But, after calculating estimate delivery date, it
falls on the 2 days before wanted month. So, can I take Norcolut again
to delay my period for 2 days? Will the contains effect my fetus?
Answer
The period can come within 1 to 10 days of stopping the tablet. It is
different in different women. Usually, we advice at least one month's
gap between taking any hormones like norcolut and conceiving. Also, your
delivery date would be approximate, so I think 2 days should not matter
!

Hi. I am 25 years old and had my tubes cut and tied last May after my
second child. Since then, my periods are far and between. Is this
normal? I have been to my doctor and I am not pregnant. Should I be
worried? Thanks
Answer
Are you still breast feeding ? This can cause irregular periods. Also,
have an ultrasound done to rule out the presence of an ovarian cyst .
Usually, sterilisation does not cause delayed periods.
Question
My period was 2 weeks late and when it fimally came it i would only
bleed in the morming for a bout 3 days now my gynera shot is due but i
think i am having symptons of pregnancy like nausea and spitting. today
i went and got my shot regardless. if i was pregnant would this stop the
pregnance. i want the baby but didnt know what to do?
Answer
What do you mean by the gynera shot ? As far as I am aware gynera is an
oral contraceptive. Anyway, do a urine test for pregnancy . If you have
taken the "shot " while pregnant there could be some side- effects to
the fetus. You will have to discuss that with your doctor.
Question
Can I still get Pregnant if the seminal fluid falls out after

Answer
Yes. As long as some sperms are in the vagina , you can get pregnant.
Question
It's my first time to take the pill and i have had some mild stomach
upset the morning after the first night i took it. Although it was mild
diarrhea, would the pill still be effective? thanks for the help

If it was mild diarrhea , it would be effective. However, to be on the
safe side, you should use an additional contraceptive like a condom for
the rest of the cycle.

Question
I have noticed a little pink on the toilet paper for the last 2 days.
I've been on birth control for over a year but 3 months ago my
Gynocologist suggested I change and it made me very sick and so I went
back to the previous brand of pill. Anyways, I am due to start my period
next week, took my last pill in the pack today. I took a HPT today and
it came out negative. What should I do??
Answer
You may have taken one of the pills a little later than usual or missed
on. However, do a urine test 6 days after the last pill if you have not
got a period. If the problem of spotting continues during the next
cycle, consult your doctor.
Question
Hello Doctor, I m 29 yrs old diabetic(since july'04)married(Jan
04)woman.I had 2 miscarriages 1st in Aug'05 & 2nd in April'06 though
blood sugar level was quite normal during that time. Both the pregnancys
came after taking Ovofar(frm day 3 1 tab twice for 5 days ) &
Duphaston(frm day16 1 tab daily for 10 days)for 2 cycle.After 2nd
miscarriage another doctor prescribed Ovofar(frm day 3 1 tab twice for 5
days ) & maintane(frm day16 1 tab twice for 10 days)for 3 cycle. Today 3
cycle is over and got the period& didn't concieve. Can I continue the
same course for the next cycle(4th cycle)?
Otherwise please suggest any other medicine for pregnancy. Now I am
taking Insulin(Human mixtard)30/70 and bl sugar fasting 105mg/dl,PP
131mg/dl.
I m eagerly waiting for your valuable suggestion. You can send ur
suggestion in my mail id :
bsnl_arupa@yahoo.co.in
Answer
I am sorry, I have to send the mail to omanaccess and your answer will
be mentioned there. I presume you are on folic acid. Your blood sugar
level is fine and should remain absolutely normal while you conceive.
This would reduce the chances of certain abnormalities in the fetus. You
can continue the same treatment , as long as your ovaries are not
getting enlarged. This can be determined by ultrasound. You can discuss
with your doctor regarding the use of aspirin or progesterone
suppositories to prevent another miscarriage. Have you checked for anti-
cardiolipin antibodies or toxoplasmosis? Which city are you in ? Let me
know, so I can advice you regarding further treatment. All the best !
