Oroxine tablets and will not prevent you from conceiving and are safe
to use even during pregnancy, if required . You must maintain your

Question
Hello,
I came across some tablets with the marking of Estinor on it's foil.
It's a small green colored tablets, but I'm not quite sure what's it
for, and I would really like to know more about it
Answer
Estinor is an" emergency contraception pill ", which maybe used after
unprotected intercourse to prevent conception. However, it must be used
correctly, so you must contact a pharmacist or a doctor prior to using
it.
Question
I am 27 and have a daughter 10 years
old, which was conceived naturally. I have been trying to concieve for
the past 18 months. I have had blood test which revealed im not
ovulating, and today I had an ultrasound which showed I have PCSO? I am
really confused and worried that I will not ever be able to conceive,
and what treatments are available to correct the ovaries? how long does
the treatment take to work? please can you put my mind at rest!!
Answer
PCOS ( polycystic ovarian syndrome ) is present in 10-20% of women.
You must have had it when you conceived earlier , so don't worry about
it. One has irregular periods and infrequent ovulation or anovulation
with PCO. You can take clomid tablets to help you ovulate . However,
ultrasound monitoring is essential while on clomid to detect your most
fertile period and to observe that your ovaries are not getting
enlarged.
Question
I was recently treated for a sinus infection with biaxin...the month
before I had also been treated with biaxin for broncititus. Both times I
got a yeast infection after treatment and treated it with a 3 day
over-the-counter vaginal antifungul. But this time, during treatment of
the yeast infection, I started bleeding lightly and having slight
abdominal pain...I have not engaged in sexual intercourse for 3 weeks.
My question is, should I see my doctor about this or is it normal and
nothing to worry about? I've never had it happen before and I would
rather not have to have a plevic over some light bleeding that is
probably nothing. Thanks for the input.
Answer
Antibiotics do predispose to yeast infection. You can use canesten
vaginal pessaries for 6 nights. If the infection still persists , you
may need oral antifungal tablets (like diflucan or sporanox ) for you
and your partner. If the infection still persists, have a vaginal smear
done to rule out any other infection which might need some different
treatment.
Question
Hello Dr.
I was in a 2 1/2 yr relationship never used protection but since then I
have a white creamy discharge with a wierd smell.. I thought it could be
left over sperm from my partner but we are not together anymore, I don't
have any std's just HPV.. what can I use to stop it.
Answer
It seems to be fungal infection. Use betadine vaginal pessaries.
However, check with your pharmacist that you are not allergic to any of
its contents. If that does not help, have a vaginal smear done to
determine the type of infection you have and take appropriate treatment.
Question
24 years ago I had a hystorectomy snice then I have been on and off
hormone tretment. I was 29 when I had it done and I have not been able
to enjoy sex at all. I have also had a yellow discharge which I only
seem to have when I am on hrt canyou tell me what this is please.
Answer
Were both your ovaries removed as well ? Do you have vaginal dryness?
If yes, you can use premarine vaginal cream once a day fro 7 days every
month. Which hormones have you used? A hysterectomy should not affect
your libido in any way. The vaginal discharge could be due to a fungal
or bacterial infection. Use betadine vaginal pessaries. Check with your
pharmacist that you are not allergic to any of its contents.
Question
hi my name is Tiffany and I am 19 years old. I am experiencing a brown
discharge. It has a odor sometimes but is mostly right after my period.
It started one day after using a latex condom. Can you please tell me
what this is?
Answer
You could be having a vaginal infection. Use betadine vaginal
suppositories, after checking that you are not allergic to any of its
contents. If you are not better, have a pelvic examination done to
determine whether you have a vaginal or cervical infection or a cervical
polyp. A vaginal smear would determine the type of infection you have.
Question
I'm 19 and have been experiencing some unusual bumps on my vagina. They
hurt when pressed against and if it breaks pus as well as blood
afterwards. I'm kinda nervous because I don't have health insurance to
see a gynecologist and I fear for my boyfriend when he gives me oral
sex. I love him and I don't want to lose him. What should I do?
Answer
I am sorry, I cannot answer this without seeing you. You will have to
be seen by a gynecologist to determine what you have and to take
appropriate treatment.
Question
I've known that Primolut N can delay the period. My question is that if I
have a period next time on 1st October and I want to delay my period for
7 days when will I start/stop taking them ? Can I have sex without
getting pregnant during those 7 days? Can Primolut N use as birth
control pill as well?
Answer
You can start primolut one week prior to the expected period and
continue it till you wish to delay a period. It is NOT a method of birth
control and can cause some problems with the fetus if continued during
pregnancy. I presume you have consulted a doctor before and there are no
contra-indications for taking the tablets.

Answer
Sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I am sure with the right treatment
, you can reduce your chances of miscarriage. Regarding ovulation, are
you taking clomid tablets and in what dose? This can be adjusted to form
adequate follicles. For further treatment during your next pregnancy- I
need to know the following: where are you living?, what is your
toxoplasmosis test result ?, is your blood sugar normal? are your
thyroid levels normal? Let me know, so I can advice you further.
Question
Hi,
I am a 33 years old breast cancer survivor. I was on Tamoxifen for 2
years and stopped the pill 4 months ago as I am planning to have
children soon. I noted I have spotting during mid-cycle and spotting
several days before my period starts since I stopped the tamoxifen. Is
this considered abnormal vaginal bleeding?
Answer
Have an ultrasound done to rule out any ovarian cysts ( caused by the
tamoxifen) or a fibroid in the uterus. Also, have a vaginal examination
done to rule out any vaginal or cervical infection or polyp. All these
can cause the spotting. Let me know, so I can advice you further. All
the best !
Question
Hi,
I post my problem to you some time back that you diagnose as the vaginal
fungal infection and recommended the use of CANISTEN (6 tablets course).
I did it and the white discharge that used to come out with urine and at
times unexpectedly, subsided.
I had intercourse after about 3 days of the completion of course. Now I
have the following problem.
In the past when I used to get aroused I had sticky, transparent fluid
coming out. After the completion of the act the nature of the fluid
remained the same.
Now I experience the white (curd like, the same as I used to experience
when I had fungal infection) liquid coming out when I go to the washroom
after having intercourse. The fluid keeps on coming out for a few hours
then subside. I also experience some itching and a slight burning
sensation inside the vaginal walls but they also subside after some time
and every thing gets to normal as long as I am not involved in any
sexual activity. As soon as I indulge in any such activity the problem
arises again.
I wonder why it comes out after the completion of the act, along with
the itchy and burning feeling. Please recommend the course of treatment
as well as any tests that you think will be helpful for an effective
diagnosis.
Thanks,
Sana
Answer
You may still have the infection, or you have had a re-infection. Use
canesten again. Also, both you and your partner should use diflucan
tablets or sporanox capsules for one day - on the second day of the
period. If the problem persists, you need to see a gynec. who can do a
vaginal smear and a culture and sensitivity to determine what infection
you have and what would be the best treatment for it.
Question
Hello,
My wife has been currently suffering from Dirreha for for 4
months, weight loss of 15 pounds, pelvic pain, and stomach pain. All these
symptoms started to occur after she stop using Deporovera birth control.
She was on depo. for about 10 years .
She has had tons of blood work, STD Check, Ultra sound, Endoscopy,
Colonoscopy and all test results were negative. I am concern that her
long term use of depovera has caused these symptoms and what steps
should we take next? Her doctor has not mentioned anything about
deprovera being the culprit and suggested that it might be irratable
bowel syndrome. However, from my reading of irratable bowel
syndrome...it doesn't cause pain in the pelvic and abdominal area. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
Answer
Depo provera does not cause this. Besides, she is having these after
stopping the depo. Depo provera may have caused weight gain ( because of
water retention). Now that it has been stopped she may have reduced her
weight which was due to water retention. Let me know the detailed
results of the laparoscopy and colonoscopy .Is she stressed ? Maybe a
fear of pregnancy is giving her stress , which does cause irritable
bowel syndrome.
Question
I have irregular periods. I had 2 surgeries in the last 5 years. I've been
trying to get pregnant over the last 3 years. I'm not sure what's wrong
with me. Last year from April up until Jan. Of htis year i've been all
month long or 20 days out of the month. Now i've had my menstration the
last 2 months regular. But let's see if it comes this month on Sept. 24.
Can you elite me on my problem.
Answer
What is the result of your ultrasound? Do you have PCOS ( polycystic
ovarian syndrome)? Are you ovulating? This can be checked by the clear
plan method. Let me know, so I can advice you further.
Question
Dear doctor,
I am a 24 year old woman who has been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian
syndrome recently. Prior to that, i was taking Gynera for 2 and a half
years for contraception. Before, i started on Gynera, my periods were
regular. I would like to know what was the probable cause of my PCOS? Is
it Gynera? What treatment is available for PCOS? A trans vaginal scan
revealed that each ovary has at least 12 immature follicles. How did
this come about? Would this affect my chances of conceiving in future?
Answer
Polycystic ovarian syndrome is present in 10-20 % of women. It often
runs in families and is more in certain races. Gynera does NOT cause
PCOS. In PCOS , one has irregular periods, irregular or absent
ovulation, hirsutism (excessive hair growth), acne and increased body
weight. While you were on gynera , your periods were regular because of
the hormones in it. Now, you are getting your natural cycle pattern.
Treatment depends on whether you wish to conceive or not and what
symptoms you have. There is no treatment to get rid of the PCOS.
Question
I had an embryo transfer after ivf 2 days ago, yesterday I had abdominal
discomfort & creamy whitish yellow vaginal discharge. also I was a light
smoker and I stopped smoking about 1 week before embryo transfer I
wonder if this affects the ivf? I used to smoke about 6 ciggarettes per
day
Answer
Smoking, if continued during a pregnancy , affect the baby. However
the discomfort and the discharge are not related to the smoking Are you
using cyclogest vaginal pessaries? This may cause the discharge. All the
best !
Question
I went to my doctor 3 months ago for a brown, brown discharge inbetween
periods. an ultrasound was done and was diagnosed with follicular cysts
in each ovary. The brown has stopped, but my periods are really wacked.
They are really long and different then they used to be. I never went to
a gynecologist, because of no insurance. I just went to my primary
doctor. Should I go to another doctor, or will these go away on their
own. Also, does this mean I am not ovulating? Will this affect
pregnancy? I seem to have cramping all month long. Off and on. Please
help me.
Answer
What was the size of the cysts? Do you have PCO(Polycystic ovaries) ?
If it is PCO , you need not do anything further, except take medication
to regularise your periods or to ovulate, in case you wish to conceive.
The PCO will not cause cramping. Do you have a fibroid in the uterus?
Let me know, so I can advice you further.
Question
Dear doctor;
I'm 38 years old. I have married for 15 years. I have 2 children(7 and
4). I also had 3 abortions before. My husband is my only sex partner.
Recently, I found I had virgina bleeding during sex. Once happened about
10 days before my last period. This time is about 10 days after my last
period. The bleeding is light. It stopped next morning. I feeled a
little bit discomfort at my left lower tummy both time. I had a big
solid tissue (about 1 inch) passing out during my last period. I'm not
on contraceptive pills.
Would you please tell me what happened to me? I'm scared.
Answer
If this spotting is only for a day around mid-cycle, it is likely to
be due to ovulation. If it is not only during mid-cycle, have a pelvic
examination done as this will reveal whether you have a vaginal or
cervical infection or polyp. Have you done an ultrasound? This will
detect a fibroid or an ovarian cyst . Let me know the results, so I can
advice you further.
Question
3rd Query: 09.09.05
Respected Doc., I am very thankful to you for your response of my last 2
queries. I will like to inform you that D&C were done on 27.07.05 and
her next period was on 27.08.05. The period was exactly on after 30 days
after D&C. There are 2 changes noticed:
(a) Before pregnancy, my wife got the indication (back pain etc.) before
period but this time she does not have any indication. (After D&C).
(b) In this time she complained that the period was not as before
pregnancy i.e. she was spotting only for 3-4 days.
Kindly advice on the matter. We will very thankful to you.
ROMESH, LUCKNOW.
Answer
The first period after D& C maybe different. Anyway, the absence of
pain or the scanty period are nothing to worry about.
Question
Hello Dr.
I am a 32yr.old woman; I have type 2 diabetes & polysistic overy. I
don't know if it is both overies or not. My monthly cycles are very
rare;maybe 1 every year. Here recently I have been spotting a little.
Can I possibly have a baby. I have been married 2 yrs.. Thank you in

Answer
Polycystic ovaries are usually seen in both ovaries. They are
accompanied by irregular periods, absent or infrequent ovulation,
increase in weight , acne or hirsutism (increase in hair growth).
Regarding conceiving, you can with medication, in case you are not
ovulating spontaneously. Have your blood tests done on day 2 or 3 of the
period- FSH , LH and testosterone. Let me know the results, so I can
advice you further.

Question
I am 27 and have been on Depo for about 7 years or more. I stopped taking
my depo and my period came on the very next week. What are the chances
of me getting pregnant? It's been three months and my periods are very
regular. Is this good or bad.. how long will it take

Question
Both my overies are Polycystic. I conseived with Siphene sometime in Nov
2004 but had a miscaarriage in Jan 2005. After that I did not ovulate
with any medicine like Letroz, Syphene. I was given 5 inj of Gonal F but
it did not lead to pregnancy. Later I underwent Laproscopy, DNC and
Overian drilling and was diagonised having endometriosis. My tubes are
fine Now I am on duphastone. My question is:
1) Doctor has asked me to take duphastone for 6 months (continuously for
6 months, 2 tabs daily (1-0-1). Is it fine?
2) Will ovulation occur when using duphastone or is ovulation supressed?
3) Can I get pregnant when using duphastone
Answer
Duphaston taken continuously may help to reduce your endometriosis.
However, ovulation will not occur during that time and you will not
conceive. If your endometriosis is mild, you can plan a pregnancy soon ,
so as to get the maximum advantage of the ovarian drilling. Soon after
ovarian drilling , the hormones are changed to favour ovulation . This
effect may not last for a long time. Let me know the extent of the
endometriosis, so I can advice you further.
Question
I am 22. I
havent had sex in like 1 1/2 months- 2. I just had my period almost 2
weeks ago. I have brow discharge and am bleeding a little and some
clotting...is this normal?
Answer
If the bleeding is during mid- cycle, it is due to ovulation. If it
is at other times also, let me know, so I can advice you further.
Question
I am 19 years old and recently I have had an
itchy vagina with white curdy like discharge with a slight odor and I am
pregnant my OB gave me a cream for yeast infection here now a week later
I am slightly itchy again and I have noticed a itchy anus and pain while
using the bathroom I thought it was hemorrids but this morning I noticed
a a red bump that is a lil itchy and I was afraid it was herpes...I have
only been with one other guy one time unprotected before my boyfriend
and that was about a year ago? Can it be possible that it's herpes? I
know I need to see a docter for treatment but in your mind would you say
that it's herpes or something else? The one time I went to the ER I
asked about herpes and they said it's ALWAYS in a rash and VERY
uncomfortable but my ONE bump isn't too uncomfortable...PLEASE HELP
ASAP..I am really scared.. EVERYONE tells me that it's NOT herpes, but I
am just scared...help me and Thank You...
Answer
Relax ! I don't think it is herpes, but it is difficult to be sure
without seeing it. When you for your next check- up, you can show it to
your doctor to rule it out, Are you constipated? If yes, use duphalac
syrup- 15 ml at night to reduce your pain during passing stools. For the
itching around the vulva and the anus, use kenacomb cream twice a day
for 5 days.
Question
Hi am 27 years old and began trying to conceive
6 months ago. Had one normal period following this so not pregnant. Then
had alternating short and long cycles of 44 and 22 days. This has
repeated twice. I had regular periods before I stopped using birth
control (condoms). What could this mean? Is this why I have not yet
fallen pregnant?
Answer
Since you have irregular cycles, it is difficult to predict when you
are ovulating. Have ultrasound done to determine that , so as not to
miss the fertile period. If you are not ovulating, you can take clomid
tablets and monitor again. What is your husband's semen report? Let me
know, so I can advice you further. All the best !
Question

coming.
It is normal?
Usually she have at 28 days the period.
