Hi, I have been diagonised with high prolactin levels, having found no tumor I was put on to dostinex in January this year. My periods, which had  been absent for two years, returned by Febuary. My problem is very sore breasts, so painful that I cannot stand having them touched, nor even  wear a bra. This problem is worse a certain times of the month, but never goes away. How can I eliviate this pain, and now I have been having  periods for 6 months can I stop taking the dostinex? I am 46 years old and not menophasal (yet!)

The breast pain maybe due to milk congestion due to the high prolactin. Also, it will increase prior to the period . Have your breasts checked and if  required, do a mammography to ensure there is no mass in the breasts. If not, you will have to take pain killers like cataflam to relieve the pain. Have  your prolactin level done. If it is normal, you can stop the dostinex temporarily. One month after stopping, check the level and if high , start the  dostinex again. Unfortunately, the prolactin would remain high often and you may need to repeat the dostinex often.

A couple of years ago I had treatment for cervical erosion and polyp.I also had monialisis for which I had several oral tablets,antibiotics and  pesaries.Eversince, I have been suffering from brown discharge and a sharp pain on the right side, for a long time.I have had all the test  done.Smear/vaginal ultrasound/kidney test/swaps in fact the lot.Doctor says that apart from Fibroids I do not have anything wrong with me.

The fibroids have not changed much.I was also getting a sharp pain everytime I was about to pass discharge.This pain used to run down the back of my  leg.Two weeks ago I stopped eating wheat,wheat products and gluten.I have noticed a considrable change in that I do not have any pain but the  brown discharge continues-especially 4-5 days before my period.I have been taking Aloe Vera gel too.I have pain in my anus whenever I empty my  bowel.Please help!I am 39 years old and no kids.

Do you have an erosion or polyp again? I don't think any change in the diet will help. You can try daflon tablets- one tablet twice a day from the  18th day of the period till the onset of the period. Let me know if this helps. Also, if the pain is very severe , you can do a laparoscopy to rule out  any endometriosis. Let me know the results., so I can advice you further.

I have been trying to have a baby for a year now. I have been following my cycle but nothing happening. My period comes every month but  sometimes it would be late. April my period came the 24th and in May it came the 28th. this month I had a little blood on the toilet paper on the 23rd  and since then I have only been passing some brown discharges and yesterday I notice it has a bad smell. Today is June 28th and still passing the  brown discharges. Can you tell me what is happening to me.

Do a urine test for pre4gnancy. If positive, have an ultrasound done and let me know the result. If negative , have a pelvic examination done to rule  out any erosion or polyp . How are you confirming when you are ovulating? You can do that by ultrasound or clear plan test. Let me know, so I can  advice you further.

I have pcos nad have had about 5 periods in 2 mths my doc gave me progesterone for 10 days. Istarted my period after the progestrone and it  lasted for about 6 days. Well 6 days after that I started again. I went to a specialist he never even checked me because I got checked a yr ago and  told me you have 3 options a d&C a iud or hysteroctomey. I am 31 yrs old and very frustrated at this docters response without even checking me .

He alos then perscribed a higher dose of progesterone for 21 days. I have 2 girls that I had to go on fertility drugs to have. I may want more. What  could be the cause of bleeding so much.

Why were you advised an IUD? Even if you use the mirena, it causes irregular spotting and may worsen your problem . What is the result of your  ultrasound? Do you have a fibroid or an ovarian cyst? ( I know you have PCO , but do you have an ovarian cyst?) Regarding pregnancy, what is the  result of your husband's semen ? Also, are you ovulating? This can be checked by the clear plan test or by ultrasound. Let me know , so I can advice  you further. You do not need a hysterectomy now.

Have a pelvic examination done to rule out that you do not have any vaginal or cervical infection or polyp. In the meantime, you can use betadine  vaginal pessaries for 7 days. Check with your pharmacist to ensure that you are not allergic to its ingredients. Has the tubal ligation done after a D & C ? In that case you would bleed for a few days.

I hope u can help, I've been having yellowish brown discharge,abdominial ace,stomch ace,and bloating,and gas boobles sometimes I noticed this first  the tuesday week before my period the following tuesday my period started though it was 4 days long instead of 3 it is now monday the following  week my stomach and abdominial ace is still there (abdominial just bellow the ovaries)not a strongh ace though, my question is could I be pregnet  and have some kind of infection? It would be advisable to do a urine test for pregnancy . Abdominal pain and bloating are common before a period. You can take disflatyl tablets- twice a day for 5 days. If the problem persists, have an ultrasound done. Regarding the discharge, have a vaginal swab done to determine the type of infection and take appropriate treatment.

Question:

I have had a dermoid ovarian cyst on my left ovary for 1 & 1/2 years now. It was dianosed when I became pregnant & has not gone away. I am 1  year post pregnancy & the size has slightly increase to 3.14cm x 1.18. I have been playing wait & see sice I do not want surgery. Any chance that  the growth could be related to hormone imbalance? I am still breast feeding my son & did get my period again about 6 mos after my delivery.

However, my period come between 28-43 days & is moderate to light with no pain. I have no pain associated w/the dermoid either. Are there other  options before surgery & would discontinuing breastfeeding be a possible cure?

If the size of the cyst is not increasing and you do not have any other problems, you do not need surgery now. However, you must monitor the size  of the cyst every 3 months to ensure that it is not increasing in size. The breast feeding will not affect the size of the cyst. A dermoid cyst is not  related to any hormonal imbalance. You probably have delayed periods because you are breast feeding. Unfortunately, there are no other options for a dermoid cyst.

If you still have not got a period, do a urine test for pregnancy. You mentioned your doctor said "you did not ovulate this morning. " How was that
checked ? Let me know , so I can advice you accordingly.

Do a urine test for pregnancy and let me know the result. I cannot advice regarding abortion. To prevent a future pregnancy, you can use birth control pills like gracial or yasmin from the first day of the next period.

iam 30 married and trying to concieve for three years never succeeded had all basic blood tests used clomid for 5 months now recently had  laparoscopy there r fibroids ,primary stage endometriosis, left tube partially blocked die entered but didnt came out, iwant to go for ivf but doctor  has told a waiting list of 2.5 years my blood tests reveal iam ovulating used lh home test couldnt locate most fertile time it was +ive for 23 days then  _ive but i dont have sticky fertile mucus infact my vigina is usually dry. i know that i do ovulate may b not every cycle but i am unable to predict  fertile time 2.5 years wait is v painfull  suggest me what i can try else keep on trying for a baby or firt go for endometriosis treatment tell me any medication to generate viginal fertile  mucus bcz i am not able to get it my blood hormonal level doesnt reveal that i am not ovulating or ill b having tubal problem but laproscopy...i am v  depressed plz guide me my husbands results r fine some times i aso suffer with kidney pain do kidney problems interfere with your fertility eagerly waiting for your reply with best wishes for you

Sorry to hear about your problems. However, you can conceive naturally as one tube is patent. You should do an ultrasound on the 10th day of the  period to determine which side you are ovulating. If it is on the right side, you can try for a pregnancy. Also, what is your husband's semen report?  Have you done a post-coital test(PCT) ? let me know, so I can advice you further. The kidney pain will not affect your fertility.

I am concerned as I have very irregular periods. I may go 2 months without one, then have a period for a few days every week for a month. You may have polycystic ovaries, as this is related to irregular periods and acne . Have an ultrasound done to rule that out and let me know the  result. Regarding mood swings, you have to accept that this is common and have to deal with it. Maybe talking to a friend or your mother will reduce your stress and you may feel better.

You should get a period within 10 days of stopping the medication. If you still have not got one - repeat the beta hcg blood test and let me know the result. Regarding your future pregnancy, let me know which country you live in , so I can advice you further.

You should not get disheartened by polycystic ovaries as almost 10- 15 % of women have it. You have to go on a strict diet and exercise plan to lose weight , as this will facilitate your ovulation. Are you ovulating? Have a clear plan test done and let me know the result. Birth control pills will  not help you conceive. If you are not ovulating, clomid will help. Let me know the clear plan test and your husband's semen report, so I can advice you further. All the best!

Since Feb I have gone to the dr. 4 times for excrutiating pain inside the vagina. It gets bad for a few weeks rt. after menstruating. So bad that it  hurts to stand & sit...I only get relief from the pain laying down. The dr. can't find anything wrong & keeps telling me to use A&D Ointment. This  provides no relief. Hello I am 38 years old. Last year I was told I had vaginal strep. The Doctors office has tried several creams and antiboties to get rid of it with no luck. Along with this I have a foul smelling urine. Otherwise I am healthy. I have only had intercourse with my husband of 20 years and we have three children.
