A) INFERTILITY |
|
Question
My doctor advice to take fertyl 50 mg on my 2nd
day of periods may i know the when it can be ovulated. |
|
|
Answer: You must have an ultrasound done on day 12 of the cycle.
This will indicate your fertile days and when you may ovulate. It will
also ensure that your ovaries are not getting too enlarged and forming
cysts. All the best ! |

Question
Hello Dr. I have had 2 miscarriages before (one at
8months - still born; one at 3.5 months) however after that i visiyed a
gyne who did all the teat and give me clomid on the 4th day of my
menstruation and than to take primolut N on the 13th day after
menstruation to concieve in future. according to him i need to repeat
this if still have mensus the next month . if no that means you are
pregnant and to stop. for clomid i could understand that it increases
the chance of ovaluating but i want to know more about primolut N. is it
ok to take primolut N after taking clomid to concieve.it has been 7
months now i have repeated the same tablets on every menstruation cycle
and still did not concieve. i am confused with primolut N. please advice
if i should continue or what ever you suggest |
|
|
Answer: Sorry to hear about your problems. I would like yiou
to check your thyroid hormone, toxoplasmosis and anti-cardiolipin
antibodies and let me know. I want you to monitor your ovulation by
ultrasound on day 12 and day 20 of the cycle. Once you have
ovulated, start duphaston tablets- one tablet twice a day for 10
days. This is safer than primolut and would help prevent a
miscarriage. This has to be continued till 12 weeks of pregnancy and
is safe. Let me know the results , so I can advcie you further. All
the best ! |

progesterone, so that is fine. Have your husband's semen report done
and an HSG to check your tubes and let me know. Also,

Question
Hello
doctor, i m staying in kuwait with my husband for last 2 month. we are
trying to conceive. i have PCOD.i have irregular periods.last week i met
a gyn here. she prescribed orgametril for 10 days.and told me to meet
her after 10 days starting from first day of bleeding. also gave me
folic acid. is orgametril a drug? is prengancy possible? doctor we cant
control our anciety and tension. plz help us.kindly reply |
|
|
Answer: PCOD is associated with irregular periods and
infrequent ovulation.Orgametril will help you get a period. You must
start the folic acid. During the next cycle, have an ultrasound done
on day 12 of the cycle and again around day 15 to check whether you
are ovulating or not. If not, you would require clomid tablets in
the subsequent cycle. Also, have your husband's semen checked. All
the best ! |

C) PREGNANCY |
|
Question
Hi I'm in my 5 weeks and 5 days of pregnancy. I
was on primolut tablet until i did a test and it was positive. I just
got my scan done and pregnancy was confirmed, just wondering that i ate
only 8 primolut, will it be of any harm to my baby. Please inform |
|
|
Answer: You have not mentioned whcih days of the cycle you
had taken primolut. Most of the time, primolut taken early in
pregnancy does not cause any harm. However, have a detailed anomaly
scan done at 13 weeks and 20 weeks to rule out any anomalies. |

|
|
Answer: Sorry to hear about your problems. Howwever, now with
proper medication, you should be fine. You must continue your
thyroid medication and procinol and ensure that the levels remain
normal when you wish to conceive. Start a multivitamin tablete which
has folic acid. Have you tested for anti- cardiolipin antibodies ?
let me know the result of that. When you wish to concveive, have a
scan done on day 12 and day 20th of your period and let me know when
you have ovulated and I can advcie you further. At that time, also
let me know whcih country you are in , so I can advcie you
medication accordingly. All the best ! |

Question
Hi doctor,me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex
last month.but he dint inserted.i missed my perioed this month.my cycle
is usually 25 days.but i dint get it.even after 30 days.i got the hcg
test done it shows i am not pregnant.i wanted to know after how many
days of missing periods i should get this hcg test done to get correct
results |
|
|
Answer: If you have not yet got a period, have the
quantitative hcg done which will give you the level of the hormone.
If it is negative, take duphaston tablets- one tablet twice a day
for 5 days to get a period. Also, it would be better if you use
contraceptive pills during the next cycle, to avoid a pregnancy. |

Question
Hi Dr. i have not had my periods for three months.
done tests and not preganant. did a scan two weeks ago and they say i
have a fertile egg in my right ovary. why the delay ?what are the
chances on me getting pregant . assuming i had intercourse two weeks
back ? can i take a home test now?. |
|
|
Answer: It could have been a fertile egg or an ovarian cyst.
A home test will only come positive 2 weeks after ovaulation, so it
will be positive after 2 weeks. If you did not get a period after
two weeks do a test. If you do get a period, do an ultrasound on day
5 of the period to rule out an ovarian cyst. |
