Hi doc! I am a 26 yr old woman married since dec
2006.in july 2007 i had gone to gyno and she detected PCOD but due to
some reason i had to discontinue her treatment and since then i am
trying to conceive without any medication. i have irregular periods
since beginning but i use to get them once in 3-4 months but after
marriage i am not getting my periods unless i take progestrone
supplements again i have visited another gyno in june 2008 and she did
thyroid tests which she says is normal she said she could nt rule out
any PCOD since then i am taking duphaston for regularising my periods. i
take 20 mg once a day daily from 11 to 25 day of my period and my period
starts on 28 day. i am over weight that is 82 kg with 5'4' height.my
gyno says that there is nothing to worry about then why are my periods
irregular and why am i not able to concieve please please help me am
really worried and going in depression bcoz of this. secondly from past
4 days i have itching in my inner lips of vagina and vulva region an

Answer:Your question is incomplete. However, PCO ( polycystic ovaries )
are associated with irregular periods, anovulation and obesity. You must
lose weight as that would help you ovulate and regularise your cycles.
Have an ultrasound done on day 11 of the cycle. If the follicles("eggs")
are small and you are not ovulating , you would require drugs like
clomid . Discuss with your doctor regarding that. Careful monitoring on
ultrasound is required while you are taking clomid to determine the most
fertile period and to observe that your ovaries are not enlarging. Also,
let me know your husband's semen report and whether your tubes are
patent. |

had irregular periods and the couse is polycyst. I
took tablets for getting rid of it. It is almost cured now. But still I
have irregular periods. Doctor asked me to take a scan on 13th day after
my periods. The scan report said the cyst has reduced considerably and
the egg size is 2.1 cm. The doctor asked me to take registrone and
folygel for 10 days from the 15th day of my periods and Syphene from 5th
day of my periods for 5 days. Will registrone stop me from getting
pregnant? We are planning for a baby after 2 or 3 months. Will consuming
these tablets cause any side effects?

Answer:You have mentioned that you have " polycst" . I presume you
meant PCO ( polycystic ovaries ). This is associated with irregular
period and one can never get " rid of it ". You probably have regular
periods because of registrone. Since your egg size is good, you should
conceive. Registrone will not prevent you from conceiving. The tablets
are safe as far as the baby is concerned, so do not worry about that.

hi,my age is 25,weight is 50kg and i got married 2
years back.i have no baby yet...i always have irregular periods and have
polycysitic ovaries. now my doc give me golucophage three times a
day,folic acid once a day,and prolifen capsule 50mg three times a
day,start from second day of my period n take 5 days this prolifen. i
want to ask...is it good treatment in my case...and can i get pregnent

Answer: The medication given to you is fine and should help you
ovulate. Have an ultrasound done on day 12 of the period to determine
whether you are ovulating or not. This would also determine your fertile
period. Also, have your husband's semen checked and your tubes. All the

Namaste Doctor, I got married in March 25 2007.My
wife is 5 ft 4' in height & weighs 80 kg. Her Thyroid report was
perfectly normal & now her periods are also regular. But blood flow is
not much during periods. After 5 to 7 days she is getting blood flow &
that too not a heavy flow. We have planned for an issue. I am 5ft 11' &
weigh 85 kg with normal body structure(expect for apple belly).We
consulted a doctor & they gave progyluton to regularise the cycle. How
can we know which is the right time for doing intercourse.Kindly help
us.. also she has a itching sensation after semen is in contact with her
organs & she immedietly rushes to wash it. Normally whenever i do not
have intercourse i prefer to ejaculate myself almost daily.Should i stop
ejaculating before 3 days of the so called 'best possible period' Kindly

Answer:You have not mentioned whether your wife is ovulating or
not. Have a scan done on day 11 of the period to determine the most
fertile period. Are her periods irregular without the progyluton ? If she is
found not to ovulate, she would require drugs like clomid. What is your
semen report ? Let me know, so I can advice you further. She must see a
gynec. who can examine her and determine whether she has any vaginal
infection. |

Answer: Your wife must have a scan done on day 12 of the period
to determine whether she is ovulating or not. Also, that would determine
whether her ovaries have got enlarged ( formed cysts) with the fertyl.
Your fertile period would also be determined by that.The side effects
are forming cysts or having multiple pregnancies. DO NOT TAKE THE
TABLETS AGAIN WITHOUT DOING A SCAN !Let me know the results, so I can

prevent a pregnancy. Since you are ovulating and your husband's semen is

Hello doctor, I am 28 years old and married for
2.5 years. For first 2 years we used condoms as I didnt want to
conceive. after that when I was planning to get pregenent my gynic
checked and found 2 problems. Uretus lining and hormonal polyps. For
uretal lining I was asked to use Provera for 2 months. for polyps she
suggested to do a minor surgery. After 2 months my test results showed
the lining has thinned. but polyps are still there.And its been 3 months
we are trying after stopping provera. I want to know what are my chances
of getting pregnent and delivering without a miscarriage? Would it be
better to get the polyps removed in order to get pregnent?
Please...please I am desperate to get pregnent. Thank you

Answer:Please let me know how many polyps you have , their
location and their sizes. There is a risk of miscarriage, but you can
try to deliver once without removing the polyp. |

pouch with fluid where my right tube was removed my doctor says
it will clear up on its own is that true and also the technition
asked if had taken apregnancy test.? my doctor says every thing
is ok only the lining of my uterus is thick and is to early to
know if pregnant.what does the lining of my uterus mean.? Thank

Answer: You must have got a period by now. Repeat a scan to
determine whether the lining has thinned out and also whether the mass
has reduced in size. Before you wish to conceive again, have a hysterosalpingography done to check the patency of the left tube. |

irregular, at times it has even skipped a month, this time also it is
delayed by 15 days.Though I am into physical relationship,I have never

my endometrium to be 10.4mm thick in the middle,nothing else was found

ovaries ). This is associated with irregular periods. Repeat the scan on
day 6 of the period to ensure that you do not have an ovarian cyst.
Stress is a common reason for irregular periods.How are you taking
meprate? Is it only for 5 days to get a period or throughout the cycle ?
Just 5 days should be fine , to avoid a long- term use of hormones. |

only been on it nerly 6 month, but i recently got tested for chlymida
and had to take tablets for the treatment to get rid of it (i
unfortunatly came back positive) and unlucky me caught it again a week
later, in the space of 3 months iv had 2 lots of chylmida treatment, and
have not come on me period could this be due to the treatment or could i
be pregnant? does the injection fail to work after these tablets? im out

injection. One does get irregular periods for 3 months after the depo

uterus ", as you have mentioned. That , however, may not be the reason
for your spotting. Do you have a fibroid in the uterus ? Have a pelvic
examination done to determine whether you have vaginal or cervical
infection or polyp. These may cause this problem. let me know,the

Answer:Do a urine test for pregnancy. If you have got a period,
do a scan on the 5th day of the period to determine whether you have an
ovarian cyst, which can give irregularity of period. Repeat the scan on
day 12 of the period to determine whether you are ovulating or not.
Also, have your thyroid hormones checked, as an abnormality in these can
also give irregular , scanty periods. Let me know all these, so I can
advice you further. |
