kids all ready.i have'nt had a period since the 12th aug 2007 so idont
know when my next period would be so i dont know when i would be
ovalating and for the best time to have sex could you please give me
some advice thank you
|
|
|
Answer: If you have not yet got a period, take duphaston tablets-
one tablet twice a day for 5 days. Once you get a period, have an
ultrasound done on day 12 of the period to determine whether you are
ovulating or not. If not, you may require clomid to induce ovulation
during the next cycle. |

Question
my age is 33 years
my follicular size on 07/1/2008 is 12*12mm endothickness is 7mm what
should be size at ovulation day
|
|
|
Answer: The follicle grows usually at 2 mm a day. When it reaches
around 20 mm , the follicle would rupture. The endometrium should have
reached 10 mm.There is no fixed day of ovulation, it would change from
cycle to cycle. All the best ! |

Answer: Do you have PCO ( polycystic ovaries ) ? This would give
rise to irregular periods and anovulation. Have a scan done on day 12 of
the period to determine whether you are ovulating. This would also
determine your fertile period and you should have intercourse every
alternate day for that one week when you could be fertile. PCO is
associated with obesity also. You must see a dietician who can advice
you regarding diet and exercise.Losing weight would help you conceive.
Also, have you checked your tubes ? What is your husband's semen report
? Let me know , so I can advice you further. |

am not get positive and my period also not regular...plz doctor help

|
|
|
Answer: If you still have not got a period, repeat the urine
test. If negative, take duphaston tablets- one tablet twice a day for 5
days to get a period. Then, take fertyl again and do a scan on day 12 to
determine whether you are ovulating or not. Also, have you checked your
tubes ? What is your husband's semen report ? Let me know , so I can

Question
Can we have intercourse after my period even if my follicle is not
developed to the normal size, when we have intercourse before the
folicle is developed, is there is any problem in developing folicle. I
have polycystic ovaries & Iam under treatment. My folicle does not
develop without injection/Tablet. Pls suggest.
|
|
|
Answer: Your question is not very clear. However, you can have
intercourse before your follicle is mature. It does not affect the
ovulation. You should take the treatment for ovulation anyway. |

Question
hellow..im a third year MBBS student of Khyber Medical College..i wanted
to ask u that my fiance is having regular abdomen pain while she is
having her menses..can u plz tel me a solution to stop it or decrease
it..b-c she is very worried for this problem and want 2 get rid of it..
Thankyou..!
|
|
|
Answer: Pain during periods is normal. She can take brufen or
cataflam to reduce the pain. However, have her scan done on day 5 of the
period to rule out any fibroid or ovarian cyst which may give too much
pain and may require further treatment. |

|
Question
1. Iam 24 yrs old got married 1 1/2 year back I have no child till now.
Iam under treatment for the past 1 yr for polysist ovaries. The size of
the folicle does not develop the minimum size naturally, only after
taking injection FHS,HMG & tablet Letroz. the size increases. Pls advice
how to increase the folicle size naturally & the injections tablets that
Iam taking is right one. Note: - My husbands semens counts is normal. 2.
Pls suggest me how long & how many times a day should we have
intercourse. |
|
|
Answer: If the follicles do not grow naturally, there are no "
home remedies " for that. Since you are ovulating with drugs, you should
monitor your ovulation by scans. The fertile period would be when the
follicle reaches 14 mm till it ruptures. During that time you should
have intercourse once a day every alternate days. The cervix stores the
mucus for 3 to 5 days , so intercourse everyday is not essential. All
the best ! |

Question
Hello Dr. My Girlfriend thinks that she is pregnant. so she took three
home pregnacy test kit and result was negative. later she had her
mensuration already delayed by 1 week for 5 days.again she tested with
one mor test kit and the result was again negative. but 2days before she
vomited and she feels to vomit again and again. so ll u plz tell me is
there any chances that she is pregnant? plz reply me as soon as
possible. its very urgent.. cuz we are not yet married and also we are
not planning for it atleast two years. so i need ur suggestion ..plz
help me |
|
|
Answer: Have a blood test done- beta hcg. If it is negative-
below 5 , she is not pregnant. The vomiting can be due to other factors
also. If the test is negative, let her take duphaston tablets- one
tablet twice a day for 5 days to get a period. |

Question
Hello doctor, i have been diagonised with pcos and has been asked to
take glyciphage sr and blong f.since im trying to conceive my doctor
asked me to take letoval from d3-d7.cn you please confirm me whether
there are sucess stories of getting pregnant with letoval.
|
|
|
Answer: Letoval is actually an anti- cancer drug and has not been
approved for ovulation induction and has been associated with an
increased risk of abnormalities in the fetus. However, many gynecs have
been using it with success. You should discuss the pros and cons with
your gynec. |

Question
i m trying to get pregnant from last 4 yrs.no contraceptive use. all my
husband & my investigations are normal.hsg normal.biopsy normal,after 4
iui done no pregnacy occurs?in last cycle of my periods my doc has given
me letoval after LH-surge postive she had done iui on 11 day of period
then she put me on duphaston, proxynova, folic acid tab for 16 days n then
preg.test on 17 day was negative.should i plan for ivf really tense wat
to do?
|
|
|
Answer: Sorry to hear that you did not conceive. How many
follicles did you form when doing the IUI? If only one per cycle,
discuss with your doctor regarding superovulation- forming more than one
egg by increasing the dose of drugs. This gives a higher success rate
with IUI. However, close monitoring is essential to ensure that the
ovaries do not get hyperstimulated. Also, there will be a higher risk of
twins.Try for further 2 cycles in this way and if things do not work
out, try IVF. All the best ! |

Question
Madam, I am a 31 year old women and around 4 years back I suffered from
the ruptured ectopic pregnancy for which my right side tube was removed.
My periods have been very regular but this month I have not got my
period which was last on 1/12/07. I checked my pregnancy which came
negetive and now I am taking sysron- n after consulting my doctor. I
still have not got my period. I am very worried. Please suggest.
|
|
|
Answer: You would get a period around 4-8 days after stopping the
tablets. Why did you take tablets? There are safer tablets like
duphaston to induce a period and which would be safe even if you were
pregnant. if you have not yet got a period, have a blood test done- beta
hcg. If it is negative- below 5 ,you are not pregnant. If above 5 , have
a scan done to ensure that the pregnancy is within the uterus. An
intrauterine sac is usually seen by 5 weeks of gestation. |

Question
i am daig. w/ pcos- for months i was on clomid, and had iui, in the last
2 months, so this month i had hsg...plus i am on metformin 2 mo. one day
1-5 50mg clomid. and pain in both ovaries, and today 13 days into cycle,
i have light brown creamy discharge...did i realease an egg?? what's
happening?
|
|
|
Answer: You must do a scan on day 10 of the period to determine
your fertile period by checking then size of the follicle. The creamy
discharge would not be very reliable. One does have some spotting when
one ovulates, so you may have ovulated on day 13. All the best ! |

Question
Hi,i have PCOS been on treatment metformin+microgynon we are planning to
do IVF but im alittle scared,do you think this could help me have my own
baby?I conceived in 2006 but lost the baby at 3 months and have not been
able to conceive up to now.ive actually put on so much weight, this is
worrying me too, please advise me bse ive hormonal imbalance too.i
desparately wish to have a baby of my own.Thank you, will be glad when i
hear from you soon. |
|
|
Answer: Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. First of all, you
must see a dietician who can advice you regarding diet and
exercise.Losing weight would help you conceive. Also, have you checked
your tubes ? What is your husband's semen report ? Let me know the
results. If your tubes are patent, you can try IUI rather than IVF.
Also, check whether you are ovulating or not on ultrasound. All the best

Question
I am 27 years old. Six weeks into my pregnancy my practitioner
prescribed me Gynazole1 for a yeast infection. After reading the
prescription information I became concerned that pregnant rats who were
administered the medicine had decreased litter size. I called the office
three times asking if the medicine was safe and they said it was safe. I
took the medicine. At 11 week and 2 days into my pregnancy I had an
ultrasound. The doctor said my baby never developed past six weeks
gestation. I had a missed miscarriage. I know there is a possibility
this medicine caused my miscarriage. I should find out if this medicine
caused my miscarriage because if it does this could happen to someone
else. What happened to me matters and should not be swept under the rug
because it could happen to someone else. I have not had a D&C yet what
should I do? |
|
|
Answer: Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I doubt that it was
caused by the gynazole. Had you done a scan prior to using gynazole? Was
the heart beat present then and was the size of the fetus corresponding
to the gestational age? If not, there must have been a problem with the
fetus already due to other factors like chromosomal abnormalities or
insufficient hormones which caused the miscarriage.
Gynazole is a category C drug, which means the following :
" Pregnancy Category C Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse
effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled
studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in
pregnant women despite potential risks. "
You must have a D & C done. All the best for the future! |

Answer: Frequent periods are common. Have an ultrasound done on

Also, check your thyroid hormones. An abnormal level maybe associated
with frequent periods. Let me know the results, so I can advice you
further. |

Question
I am 27 years old and married for 1 year. I am having the problem of
periods irregularity since puberty that’s why not getting pregnant.
Sometimes, it exceeds 40-45 days and sometimes it comes around 15-20
days. Periods stay around 10 days. I have a backache problem. Also my
scalp hair are falling, also having body/facial hairs. I went to a
doctor who examined & advised that every thing is ok regarding uterus.
her prescription is parlodel one daily for a month, folic acid twice a
day for one month, prolifen capsule right after 2nd day of periods for
five days and duphaston twice a day for whole month. I just took one
dose of above medicine and was faint for at least 5-6 hours, so stopped
the medication. Please advise what should I do?
|
|
|
Answer: You have not mentioned whether you have PCO ( polycystic
ovaries ).This is associated with all your symptoms. What is your
prolactin hormone level? Parlodel is for reducing the prolactin level.
Since you had problems with that, there is an alternative medicine which
I can advice , depending on your prolactin level. Also, are you
ovulating ? This can be determined by doing a scan on day 11 of the
cycle. Also, what is your testosterone level? Let me know the results,
so I can advice you further. |

Hello doctor, Iam 30 yr, mother of a 3yr old child from saudi arabia.I
have a irregular perioods detected with pcod.Iam wishing to coceive.Iam
taking metaformit from last 6 months. Also i had taken clomid and did a
oulation test on 12th day and follicle size was only 9mm.Should i
continue clomid or shall i go for a laproscopy. Please suggest if there
is any kind of danger or drawbacks associated with this surgery.waiting
for ur reply,thankyou
|
|
|
Answer: You can increase the dose of clomid to 2 tablets a day
for 5 days. Have a scan done on day 12 . If the follicle is still small,
ask your doctor to prescribe certain injections like fostimon, puregon
or gonal- f. Repeat the scan after 2 injections ( one every day ) and if
the size of the follicle has increased, continue the injections till the
follicle reaches 18- 20 mm. All the best ! |

Question
hi, i have been having reccurent yeast infections. thought it was rubber
so switched to lambskin and still i get a monthly yeast infection. about
two years ago i was on the yasmin birth control pill but then stopped it
after 6 months of use. i experience no discomfort during sex, however
after sex my genitial area is covered in little white flaky sticky stuff
( not sure if its from condom lube or what?) i thought maybe the
infections would be because of the lube so i switched to regular no
lubed condoms and bought my own hypo allergenic lube and i am still
getting the white stuff..do not have health insurance anymore can you
please give me your own opinion. my own doctor would just treat the
infection and leave me be. thank you |

Question
I was married two years before and I am trying to conceive since then.
Since I was not successsful, we went to a infertilty specialist few
months ago. I had PCOS and so my FSH and LH levels were bad. So, I was
put on contraceptives pills for harmone control for two months. Then
when my FSH and LH levels were checked, it was under control. I was put
on a natural cycle. The folicular study was made and the rapture of the
egg also happened on the 19th day. But Still I did not conceive. When I
husband underwent a Semen analysis, he had a low count(3 million).
Further tests revealed that he has varicocele, which is cited as a
reason for low count. Now, the doctor wants him to undergo surgery for
varicocele and get his problem corrected first. So my questions are: 1.
Is the varicocele surgery turn dangerous to life? Is it advisable to go
for it? Is it guranteed that the surgery will result in increased sperm
count? 2. Even after the surgery and the count increase, if I am not
able to conceive, will I be taken |
|
|
Answer: Let me know the results of your FSH and LH on day 2 of
the cycle. Also, prior to doing surgery, check your husband's FSH level.
If that is high, it indicates testicular failure and varicocele surgery
would not help. Let me know the results, so I can advice you further. |

SCH, following is my activities, coming to office in car, climbing abt

Answer: Your question goes to the omanaccess website and is then
sent to me . I send the answers to the website. So, it is not possible
to answer any question immediately. However, if you still have not got a
period, have a blood test done- beta hcg. Let me know the result. If you
have got a period, it would be advisable to use the pill as it is a
reliable contraceptive method, and it would prevent your " tension"
every month ! |

Question
I am 32 and trying to conceive for the past 8 months. I have a regular
periods of 28-29 days cycle. I had my periods on Dec 3rd and my doc gave
me Siphene 50 mg 1 tablet for 5 days starting 5th day of cycle, im also
taking B-Crip and folvite. I did a follicular study and ovulated on 17th
day. But I got my periods on Jan 1st '08. My doc has asked me to take
Siphene 50 mg 2 tablets this time and do the follicular study again. How
long should I do this? My periods has been very regular and hence dont
understand why ovulation is being induced. Also when we make love, the
semen flows out and i donno whether that is common. Please help me. |
|
|
Answer: Relax ! Since you are ovulating, you do not have to
worry. It is natural for semen to flow out after intercourse. if you lie
down for around 3-4 hours after intercourse, it allows the sperms to go
into the cervix and then the rest of the semen will come out. Is the
semen examination normal and are your tubes patent ? You could be having
regular periods and still not be ovulating . Ultrasound monitoring is
essential to determine your fertile period. All the best ! |
