A) INFERTILITY |

Question
my name is sunanda.my husband serum analysis is
good.for me egg size is less.i am using letrozole tablet of 50 mg and
growth is good.last period is delayed for 19 days but result is -ve from
first onwards.but in ultrasound scan after one week we can confirm the
pregancy ,the report came for me.by using this tablet when we can except
the result,if it is -ve in starting days then after it is +ve .please
reply to my query. |

Answer: You can check whether you are pregnant or not by a urine
test 15 days after ovulation. If it is negative,do a beta hcg blood test
one week later.
If that is still negative , you are not pregnant. During the next cycle,
have an ultrasound done on day 12 of the period to determine when you
are ovulating .
Also, have your tubes checked by HSG ( hystero-salpingogram) or
laparoscopy to check that they are ok. All the best ! |

Question
I am 31 years old. I want to conceive soon but i
have irregular periods and get a gap more than 6 months until i take any
tablets for withdrawl. I did my progesterone test on 8th day of my
cycle(progesterone level 0.27) and then on 21st day of my
cycle(progesterone level is 0.16 ng). I found that i am not ovulating.
PLease advise what should i do to conceive. Can i get pregant in such
situation. |

Answer: As per the progesterone report, you did not ovulate
during that cycle. You must have your FSH and LH hormones checked on
day 2 of the next period.
If these are normal, start clomid tablets to help you ovulate. Have
an ultrasound done on day 12 of the period and again every 3
days to determine when you are ovulating. If you do not ovulate,
discuss with your doctor regarding increasing the dose of clomid
in the next cycle and also giving certain injections, if required.

Question
Dear Doctor, i conceived in march and had
miscarriage in August at 6 th month, and bled for nearly 25 days. i got
my periods after taking a tablet on oct 22nd which lasted for 7 days,
and next period on 20 november just for 3 days. and i was advice to take
siphene 50 mg on 2nd upto 6th day of my period, My question is when will
i c
onceive after taking siphene? and what could be the reason for
miscarriage so late at 6 th month? |

Answer: You have not mentioned whether the baby was alive
when you miscarried or not. The reason for the miscariage would be
different accordingly.
Let me know that, so I can advice you accordingly.
Siphene should help you ovulate. Have an ultrasound done on day 12
of the period to determine the fertile period. |

Hi dr i am robaba its 8 month iam married and i am
not taking any percautions but i am still not pregnant .. dr said i have
a ovarian cyst ..and said to take prolifin..from the 2nd day pf my
periods iam really scared ,,if i have an ovarian cyst does it dont let
me to concive with prolifin also |

Answer: You have not mentioned the size of the cyst.Have an
ultrasound done on day 5 of the cycle and let me know the result. I
do not know what prolifin conains.

B) PCO |

Question
Dear Doc, I was detected with PCODs and Doc
advised me to take Diane from 2nd day of my period till 21 days to
regularise it. It caused nausea for 4 days and thus i was put on
duphastone once a day, which caused spotting (dark brown), the doctor
advised me to take it twice a day. Now the bleeding is more and is red
instead of brown. I am concerned, if i am on the right tablets. please
advice... |

Answer: You have not mentioned whether this was a delayed
period, which is common in PCOD.
If you had forgotten even one tablet of Diane, you could have had
bleeding. Now, take primolut- n - one tablet twicwe a day for 21
days to stop your bleeding. Please take the tablet 12- hourly and do
not forget any. After stopping that , you should get a period. Have
an ultrasound done on day 5 of the period to rule out any other cyst
or fibroid in the uterus. Let me know the result, so I can advice
you further. |

Hai Doctor, My age is 23, i have polystic ovaries,
doctor diagnised and she is giving mcbm tablet and glycomet tablet, I
have been aking this tablet past 2 weeks, she told me to come once in
week for polystic ovaries check up, when all i go she tells methat you
have polystic on both ovaires, till how many dyas i should consume this
tablet, to be egg release |

Answer: I do not know about mcbm tablets, but glycophage does
help sometimes to help you ovulate, so you can continue it till you
are pregnant. However, that alone may not help. Have an ultrasound
done on day 12 of the period and again on day 16 to determine
whether you are ovulating or not. If not, you would require clomid
tablets during the next cycle. You can discuss the dose with your
doctor. |

Mam,Iam married for 3 years.My periods are
irregular.An year after marriage,i conceived with induced ovulation,but
uderwent miscarriage in the 5th month due to incompetent cervix.After an
year from that we tried having a baby,but in vain.My periods continued
to be irregular.My doc induced periods with tab MEPRATE and the tests
done thereafter diagnoised me with PCOD.Bleeding continued for 6 days
which was unusual for me (usually it is 3-4 days).From 7th day of my
periods Iam on GLYCOMET.We were togather during 12th to 16th day of my
cycle.On the 17th day of my cycle i experienced light bleeding for 2
days with breaks.Today is the 24th day.Is there any thing wrong
doctor?What might have caused this unexpected bleeding in the 17th day
of my cycle?Please |

Answer: Irregular periods are common with PCOD.You may have
had bleeding on the 17th day because you ovulated that day. You must
have ultrasound done every cycle on the 12th day of the period and
again on the 16th day to determine when you are ovulating. The
timing of ovulation maybe late in your case because of the PCOD. It
is also different in every woman and ,even in the same woman it
changes every cycle. Ultrasound would be the best guide. |

conceive on april 2010 after 2 month my ultrasound report show that no
heartbeat in baby and after few day its aborted naturely then. in april
2011 my hysteroscopy done report show that 1.cavity- normal
2.ostia(Lt)-seen 3.endometrium-not done 4.ostia (Rt)-not seen and
PELVISCOPY report-1. UTERUS size:biocornute unicolis ,position:anteverted,utero-sacral
ligaments:normal,abnormalities:none,mobility:freely moblie,
cul-de-sac:clear,2.ovary (Rt &Lt)size:enlarged,appearance:cystic,comments:enlarged
cystic ovary, 3. Rt fallopian tube:normal looking,no deformity, 4.Lt
fallopian
tube:hydrosalpinx 5.Rt & Lt broad ligament,other
viscera,peritoneum,adhesions:all are normal, 5.Lt. tube patency:slight
spill of dye seen 6.Rt.tube patency:no spill of dye seen.then in july
2011 i concevice but same problem no heart beat in baby....now dr.
advice me to ATT treatment i start ATT from 1 oct 2011.....my both
pergnance are naturely....plz help me i want baby |

Answer: Sorry to hear about your miscarriages. What has been
given as ATT treatment? Low dose aspirin, duphaston and heparin have
all been given to prevent a missed abortion . Also, have your
thyroid hormone checked, as an abnormality in that can also cause
probelems. Let me know the results, so I can advice you further. |

Im 26yrs married 70kg 5.2, married for 2 years had
a misscarriage at 5 months . now when i consulted a gynaec she has
prescribed injection placentrex but didnt tell why could you suggest why
its given n does it have any side effects? can i concieve with treatment
all my earlier reports were good. |

Answer: You have to check with your doctor why that was given
, as there are many indications for it. Placentrex may help to
reduce any adhesions that may have formed around the tubes, in case
there had been infection after your miscarriage. You should be able
to conceive. |

I had sex with my boyfriend everytime with a
condome and he never ejacuated inside.This month my period is runnin 10
days late doctor suggested deviry 10mg for 5 days. Shall this medicine
will clear if there is any chance for pregnency? Please give your

Answer: Deviry will induce a period , in case you are not
pregnant. I suggest that you use oral contraceptive pills or the
Evra patch to prevent a pregnancy , as these have a very low failure
rate, as compared to the condom. |

I had anterior and posterior repairs done 5 days
ago and have had a good pain free recovery so far, However I can feel
the familiar itching of thrush inside my vagina and wonder if it is safe
to use canesten cream even though my sutures are still so new? |

Answer: You can use gyno pevaryl vaginal pessaries- 150 mgm
each for 3 nights. These are soft pessaries, so will be easier to
use now. |

trying to get pregnant at the same time. Could it cause any side

Answer: You cannot have intercourse while you are using the
pessaries, so you should use it after the fertile period is
finished.Otherwise, it would not affect conception. |

Answer: You would get a period between 4- 10 days after
stopping the regesterone. |

Answer: I was out of town, so could not answer your question
immediately. Also, your questions are sent to the omanaccess website
and then are sent to me . After I answer them , I send them to the
website, where they are posted. For future, you should delay the
period rather than try to prepone it , as sometimes trying to
prepone it may not be effective or may cause continuous spotting . |
